Ingredients
For 4 servings
- ground beef20 oz
- white rice2 cup
- kidney beans1¼ can
- canned diced tomatoes1½ can
- bell pepper2 piece
- yellow onion2 piece
- tomato paste4 tbsp
- chili powder6 tsp
- ground cumin4 tsp
- smoked paprika2 tsp
- garlic8 clove
- sour cream6 tbsp
- olive oil2 tbsp
- salt2 tsp

Method
Cook rice according to package directions.
15 min · boil
Brown beef hard in oil without stirring, 7 minutes, until crusted.
8 min · fry
Add onion, pepper and garlic. Cook 6 minutes until softened.
7 min · saute
Add chili powder, cumin, paprika and tomato paste. Fry 2 minutes.
3 min · saute
Add tomatoes, drained beans and a splash of water. Simmer 15 minutes.
16 min · simmer
Season again — chili always needs more salt than feels right.
2 min · prep
Spoon over rice with a blob of sour cream.
2 min · rest
Serving suggestion
Grated cheddar and sliced jalapeño at the table lets everyone set their own heat.
