Before you download
- What does Chef Gaston cost?
- The app is free to download. A subscription is $3.99 per month after a 7-day free trial. The seven days start when you begin the trial in the app, not when you download it.
- What can I do without subscribing?
- Browse the whole recipe catalogue, keep your pantry, and build and share a shopping list. Onboarding also gives you your first meal plan. A subscription is what unlocks Cook Mode and generating new plans after that.
- Which iPhone do I need?
- Any iPhone running iOS 17.6 or later. Chef Gaston is an iPhone app — there is no Android version.
- Do I have to tell it what is already in my kitchen?
- Only if you want to. The pantry fills itself as you tick items off your shopping list and empties again as you finish cooking, so it stays roughly right without being maintained. You can add and remove things by hand at any point.
- How do I cancel?
- From your Apple subscription settings, the same place as every other App Store subscription. Cancel at least a day before the trial ends and you are not charged.
