By using Gaston, you agree to these terms. Please read them — they're written in plain language, not legal jargon.
Who we are
Gaston is a meal planning and kitchen management app developed and operated by Jonas Egeskov, Denmark ("we", "us", "Gaston"). Contact: jonasegeskov29@gmail.com
What is Gaston?
Gaston is a mobile application for iOS that helps you plan meals, keep track of your pantry, scan receipts, and cook with AI assistance. The app is available as a free basic version and as a paid Premium subscription.
Gaston is a personal helper tool — not a nutrition or medical advisory service. AI-generated recipes and meal plans are informational. Always verify allergens and nutritional information, especially if you have special dietary needs or health concerns.
Your account
To use Gaston, you need to create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity on your account.
You may not share your account with others. Household sharing (Premium) is done through the official sharing feature in the app — not by sharing login details.
Subscription and payment
Free version
Gaston offers a permanently free version with limited features. No credit card is required to sign up.
Premium subscription
Premium is a recurring subscription billed monthly via the Apple App Store. The price is shown in the App Store at the time of purchase.

We reserve the right to change the price of new subscriptions with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers are notified by email and in-app notification.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of the app
- Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers against Gaston's API
- Share, resell, or license your access to the app to third parties
- Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on others' rights
- Misuse AI features to generate misinformation about food, allergens, or nutrition
- Attempt to circumvent quota or access limits
We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms, without prior notice.
Content and intellectual property
Our content
The Gaston app, its design, logo, text, and AI models are owned by Jonas Egeskov and protected by copyright. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.
Your content
Content you create in the app — your own recipes, pantry data, meal plans — remains yours. You grant Gaston a limited license to process and store your content for the purpose of delivering the service.
Imported recipes
When you import recipes from third-party websites, you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use the content. Gaston only processes the content technically — we make no claim to imported recipes.
AI-generated content
Gaston uses AI (Anthropic Claude and Google Gemini) to generate meal plans, analyse receipts, and assist while cooking. AI-generated content is marked with an AI icon in the app.
We are not liable for any harm resulting from following AI-generated recommendations without exercising ordinary caution.
Availability and downtime
We strive for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the app. Planned maintenance is announced via the app or email when possible.
We are not liable for loss or inconvenience arising from downtime, server errors, or third-party provider outages (e.g. Supabase, Anthropic, or the Apple App Store).
Limitation of liability
Gaston is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the past 3 months prior to the incident — with a minimum of DKK 0 for free users.
We are not liable for indirect loss, loss of data, loss of business, or consequential damages, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such losses.
Termination
You can terminate
You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete my account in the app. Your Premium subscription must be cancelled separately via the Apple App Store before the next billing period.
We can terminate
We reserve the right to suspend or close your account in the event of serious abuse of the service, non-payment, or violation of these terms. We will try to provide 14 days' notice unless the situation requires immediate action (e.g. security incidents).
Changes to the terms
We may update these terms with 30 days' notice. Material changes are announced via in-app notification and email. If you continue to use Gaston after the changes take effect, you accept the new terms.
The current version is always available at chefgastonapp.dk/vilkaar.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Danish law. Any disputes will first be resolved amicably. If we cannot reach an agreement, the venue is the court in the district where Jonas Egeskov resides.
